Transferring data from one of the previous Wangan games
You can transfer data from tuning cards for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 (the previous game in the series) to tuning cards for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX.

How to transfer data

  1. In the "Do you have a card?" screen, insert the Tuning card for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3
  2. If the data in your card can be transferred, the "Card data transfer" screen will appear.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer card data.
Card data that will be transferred intact
  • Player name
  • Level *1
  • Transmission/Body color
  • Handling tuning status
  • Dress-up status(any parts you have will be transferred intact)
  • Number of battles in VS Player and Outruns
  • Number of battles in Ghost Versus Battle and Outruns
  • Games won in 10 Outrun Mode
  • Mileage
  • Racing meter / Wangan Maxi 1&2 BGM/Wangan R BGM *2
  • *1 Level data will usually be transferred intact, but may vary up or down by one level depending on how many episodes you have completed in Story Mode.
  • *2 Only if you obtained them in Wangan Maxi 3
Data that is not transferred
  • Title -> You will start from "Wangan Beginner"
  • Time Attack Record -> Returns to default state
  • Racing style -> Returns to default state
Transferable data that varies from person to person No. 1
  • Completion status of Story Mode (Progress in Story Mode)

    If you have completed less than 80 episodes, Story Mode data is transferred intact.
    Example) Completed up to Episode 50 -> Start from Episode 51
    Players who have completed up to and beyond Episode 80 will start from Episode 81 on the same lap.
    Example) Completed up to the 2nd lap of Episode 80
    -> Start from 2nd lap of Episode 81 (Episode 181)
    Completed up to the 2nd lap of Episode 159
    -> Start from the 2nd lap of Episode 81 (Episode 181)
    Completed up to the 3rd lap of Episode 160
    -> Start from the 3rd lap of Episode 81 (Episode 281)
    Completed up to the 3rd lap of Episode 239
    -> Start from the 3rd lap of Episode 81 (Episode 281)
    Completed up to the 4th lap of Episode 240
    -> Start from the 4th lap of Episode 81 (Episode 381)
Transferable data that varies from person to person No. 2
  • Unbeaten/Beaten in Story Mode
    -> All treated as "Unbeaten"

Cards that can and cannot be used for transfers

Cards from which data can be transferred:
  • Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 cards that are currently active
  • Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX test version cards
Cards other than those described above cannot be used. The following cards cannot be used:
Cards for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 1 or 2
  • Unused cards attached to the sound track for Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3.
    If the card attached to the sound track is active, it can be used for data transfers
  • See details of other cards from which you can transfer data

Points to note when transferring data

Should there be words that are not generally acceptable in polite society included in the card name, you may be asked to change the name at the time of transfer.
If you cannot not come up with a new card name on the spot, select "Do not transfer". Your card will be ejected (and the game will start without using the card data).
After the game ends, transfer the card data if you've thought of a new card name.
