Tuning means raising the performance of your car. In Wangan Maxi 3DX Plus, your car will be tuned when you beat rival characters and fulfill other conditions（*1). As your tuning progresses, you'll be able to beat faster rivals and get better times in Time Attack.

There are two kinds of tuning in Wangan 3DX Plus: power tuning and handling tuning. Power tuning raises either your acceleration or max speed, handling tuning raises your cornering ability. You can choose the type of tuning you feel is most important for you on the tuning screen. This allows you to build the kind of car you want, a high power thrilling machine or a cornering machine with good handling.

In Wangan Maxi 3DX Plus, you can allocate tuning gages gained in Episode 21 or later to Power or Handling as you desire. (*2) When you play against upper level rivals, it will help you a lot if you choose settings that are appropriate to the course you are running on. You can also get better times in Time Attack by choosing settings that match the particular course.
