No. 112009.2.25
Hi there. It's Tetsuo DX who really wants the Z34 card. I recently set up a band. Its name is "Midnights," the chilling, amateur, and big buddy group. Of course, we can't read music.
Anyway, the new Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune series is refreshingly original. Even among the Maxi players, I assume the reactions vary from: "Devil Z really exists!" and "It waits for me in a scrap site somewhere!" to "What the heck is the scrap site?" But, all the Maxi development members love the original so much that we always yell out "Merge to Wangan linnnne!!" in the games and in our real lives when we drive from Route 9 to the Wangan line.
The world of the original surely enriches the games mainly through the story mode, but the opening movie also highlights the world of the original. Yup, the 'imagination' movie relating to Kitami's strong inner feelings are shown as the opening movie. This was also changed in the DX.
At the beginning, we were planning not to change anything from Maxi 3 since everyone's got used to it already. But at the final phase, we were rushed into brushing it up. What? Nothing really changed? Well, the basic structure is the same as Maxi 3, but the driving scenes are all now freshened up.
Along with heated-up battle scenes between tuned cars, in this movie, we are focusing on Tuner Kitami, not Akio, not Shima, but Kitami.
Kitami got so involved in Devil Z while building it up. It resulted in his factory going out of business and in him losing his family. Kitami experienced situations that made him look just like a bum from ordinary people's points of view, and he lost everything. But his life was just more and more involved in Devil Z.
How come the guy at his age is acting like that? Are you sure you're fine with that??
Are you REALLY okay, like, even that you're an adult???
"I'm the happiest guy in the world."
Well, he's yelling out like that, so he must be fine with it. Anyone who has a clear vision of what he or she wants is cool. And I believe, the aesthetic of Kitami, the guy who is so obsessed with a car like that definitely represents the world of Wangan Midnight.
If you haven't read the comics yet, I recommend you read them. If you know the attractive background of the original, I'm sure the game will be much more fun.
For your information, when the group of development members who love the Wangan world and associated poems play the games in VS player mode, it goes like this:
